What a great resource. We have over 500 technical articles in our SynAudCon Library. The articles range from intensive field studies, clever solutions to a problem, to practical tips. Many of them are written by top industry professionals. We work hard to keep the articles practical, and without the marketing twists that are often seen in the trade publications.
Here are a couple of examples.
The Archive: We have articles that dates back to 1973, when Don and Carolyn Davis founded SynAudCon. These articles will take you on a walk through audio history. Since principles are timeless, many of them still apply today.

Below is an example of a short discussion – “Digital” Snakes.
You can participate in the forum in 3 ways.

Room Impulse Response (RIR): The room impulse response is the “acoustic signature” of a room.
We have an ongoing collection of RIRs from rooms around the world. Some of the rooms are typical, others are quite interesting, and a few are of famous.
You may download the RIRs and import them into your acoustic measurement software. The files are in WAV format. You may also use the freeware GratisVolver to convolve the RIR with speech or music and have a listen.
Check out part of our RIR Collection.
